Additional Federal Relief is Needed to Protect New Jersey Students and Teachers

In response to the COVID-19 health and economic crisis, JerseyCAN is advocating for more federal support. Federal funding for education in CARES is significantly less than education funding in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) and will not address the tremendous needs that students and schools will face. This brief outlines the major tenets of the initial relief provided through the CARES Act and the impact of severe declines in revenue on education.
